Jane Bland has served in the state judiciary for 25 years and on the Supreme Court of Texas since 2019. Before her service on the Court, she served 15 years as a justice on the First Court of Appeals and six years as a State District Judge.

Judge Barbara Parker Hervey has served on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals since 2000. She chairs the Court's Grants Committee and Criminal Justice Integrity Unit, and is a member of the Rules Committee.

Bill Boyce is a partner at Alexander Dubose and Jefferson LLP in Houston, Texas. While a Justice on the Fourteenth Court of Appeals in Houston, he headed the Texas Judicial Council’s Committee on Mental Health, which was instrumental in the creation of this commission.

Justice Rebeca Aizpuru Huddle was appointed to the Supreme Court of Texas by Governor Greg Abbott in October 2020. She is a native of El Paso and earned her undergraduate degree in political science at Stanford University before returning to Texas to attend law school.

Megan LaVoie was appointed the Administrative Director for the Texas Office of Court Administration and as Executive Director of the Texas Judicial Council December 2021. Prior to this position she served as the Director of Public Affairs and Special Counsel for the Office of Court Administration.

The Honorable Jesse McClure, III of Kingwood was appointed to the Court of Criminal Appeals in 2020. He previously served as Judge of the 339th Judicial District Court in Harris County and as a prosecutor for the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI), assigned to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office as a special assistant district attorney.

Judge John J. Specia, Jr. (Ret.) serves as the JCMH Jurist in Residence (JIR). He provided leadership in establishing the Texas Supreme Court Children's Commission and forming Child Protection Courts throughout the state.

Judge Carr is the former Presiding Judge of the Tarrant County Mental Health Court and the Tarrant County Veterans Treatment Court.
